The Basics

Learn digital photography here, it has never been easier, or more accessible...

... Nor has digital photography ever been as affordable as it is now, thanks to the advent of computers and the internet. No need for a dedicated dark room any more, you can do it all in your living room in front of the TV if you like.

However, when I started my journey from just 'taking snaps', to getting a bit more serious about my compositions, I was amazed at just how difficult it was to find all the information I needed to take me from the complete numpty I was, to the , well, geek I am now.

Don't get me wrong, all the information is out there, its just spread out across dozens of books, magazines, websites, etc. The books I bought, or the articles I read, whether on the internet or in the popular magazines the shelves are packed with, all seemed to cater to one end of the spectrum or the other. Either very basic stuff, or advanced techniques with long words and terms I didn't understand like 'f/stop' or 'Chromatic Aberration' (scary, uh), without having the courtesy of explaining what they where. Finding the missing pieces to join one end of the puzzle to the other was the hardest part of learning photography for me, but hopefully your journey will be a little more linear and smoother than mine. Because digital photography really is easy to learn. Its not rocket science. Though a lot of the literature out there could certainly make you feel like it is.

And that's what I hope to accomplish with this website for you. Provide an easy to understand guide to digital photography, with a steady learning curve, that will have you 'shooting' like a pro in no time at all. No longer do you need to install a dedicated bookshelf for your photography education, its all right here for you to dive into whenever you feel like it (you may want to bookmark this page).

So, feel free to have a good click round this site and get yourself used to the surroundings and what things lay ahead for you to learn and put into practice. Then, I always suggest starting at the very beginning, even if you already know a bit about photography already. Its amazing the things some people overlook in the early stages, or never really get to grips with or understand properly, and if you don't get the basics nailed to begin with, your probably going to struggle later on as we move on to the more advanced stuff.

So, without any further ado, lets get started... Go click!!!
